Yes, it's a little close to the bone, isn't it? Part of me thought it was terribly witty. The rest was personally affronted. I find taking criticism really difficult, even when it's addressed to a whole field of study, and not just me personally! I'm attempting to lighten up...

Yeah you should lighten up, museums can take a bit of ribbing after all they are quite bizarre places the more you study them. Whole systems of justification have needed to be built around them because (and forgive me for being cynical) they are not that essential to human societies whatever museums like to say to the contrary. They are essential to some people but whole communities can get through life without engaging with them, which kind of proves my point. But anyway this is very funny and reinforced why we should continue to question why museums do things because then images of museums as elitist institutions can hopefully fade away!
